March is going to be an exciting one for us here at the Hamilton Public Library, and we have three big announcements right off the bat!
First, we are joining forces with “It Takes a Village Diaper Bank” to distribute diapers to those in need. Donations of diapers in any size will be collected from March 1-15 and given to the Hamilton Food Cupboard. There will be a clearly-marked collection box in our entryway. New diapers only please! For more information, follow @itav_diaperbank on Instagram, check them out on Facebook at facebook.com/villagediapers, or on their website at watervillemethodist.org/diaperbank.
Next, the Friends of the Library are raffling off a gift basket loaded with goodies this Spring. Stop in the library to get a look at all the great prizes you can win, tickets can be purchased right at the library for $1 each or 6 for $5. Make sure to pick up some tickets for your friends, family, neighbors, cousins, second cousins, minsters, postal workers, and anyone else on your wishlist. After all, when they win, they’ll definitely think about giving you something good from the basket.
And finally, it’s just about time for Seuss Saturday! Due to COVID-19, this year will be a little different, most notably that it will be a week long scavenger hunt running Monday, March 1 to Saturday, March 6! Start at the Colgate Bookstore and find the first Dr. Seuss poster, which will unlock the list of participating businesses. Once you find all the posters, use the clues on them to solve the final puzzle here at the Hamilton Public Library. Successful completion of the hunt will win you a box of goodies, games, and treat from Maxwell’s Chocolates and Ice Cream! For more fun, check our social media pages for links to a live Seussi-cal sing-a-long with Jenni Larchar from Rogers Environmental Education Center at 10 a.m. on Saturday. And don’t forget to stop in the library all that week to ‘guess where the Cat in the Hat’ is hiding around Hamilton for a chance to win a Dr. Seuss book from the Colgate Bookstore!
What a March, and it hasn’t even begun yet!
