It’s summertime, and the livin’ is easy! And the library programs are… breezy? All rhyming aside, let’s get to it – here’s everything you need to know about the 2022 Summer Reading Program here at the Hamilton Public Library in 350 words or less!
Festivities for “Oceans of Possibilities” begin on July 11 at 6:00 p.m. with our annual Ice Cream Social, where kids and adults can sign up to participate and – as the name suggests – enjoy a FREE ice cream sundae courtesy of the Friends of the Library. Speaking of the Friends, they are also giving away new books (to keep!) to each child (0-17) that signs up! Pick up your book alongside your ice cream or at any time throughout the duration of the program. Speaking of the duration of the program, it runs until August 13. Anyone can register for the program at any time, not just at the kickoff party!
Throughout the month, in addition to filling out BINGO sheets, there will be a variety of programs for every age group. Every Tuesday, there will be a weekly storytime that will be held outside when possible – prepare to get wet! For older kids, there will be weekly events Thursdays from 2-3:30, where door prizes will be distributed at each event! Adults and teens can come to Saturday crochet classes, Life Size Clue, and on the final day of the program we will be holding Library Mini Golf right in our stacks! For more information, and to register for these events (when applicable), please visit our website.
Note – you do NOT have to register for the Summer Reading Program to come to events. Prizes will be distributed at certain events and at the end of the program after handing in your BINGO cards!
