Purseapalooza!

You read that right, the title of this blog is Purseapalooza! For those that have not seen this word before, here’s a breakdown:

– Purse (noun) \ˈpərs\ : a receptacle (such as a pocketbook) for carrying money and often other small objects

– Apalooza (noun) \ə-pə-ˈlü-sə\ : a social event in which entertainment, food, and drinks are provided

Put ‘em together and what do you get? A party… with purses!

You might be asking what this has to do with the Hamilton Public Library, and I gotta say, that’s a solid question.

On Sunday, November 6, 2022, the Friends of the Library will be holding a benefit at the Hamilton Inn. Here, folks will be able to purchase new or gently used purses, or bid on a few brand new designer bags! Tickets are not yet available but will be $20 in advance and $25 at the door. This not only gets you in but covers one beverage and appetizers. More information about this event will be forthcoming, but mark your calendars now and make this their best fundraiser yet!

Ok, so it still may be unclear as to why I’m talking about this in the beginning of January, when tickets are still not printed – and that’s because the Friends are currently accepting donations of new or gently used purses! There is a bin for these donations right in the library. Hopefully you have an extra (or two) that you wouldn’t mind seeing go to a new home, and help raise money for the Friends of the Library in the process.

We hope to see you November 6 and lots of times in between! Thank you for reading and enjoy that snow!
