Saturdays are about to get more exciting here at the library, by about 50%! No, we’re not adding half a Saturday to each week – even though that would be amazing (maybe I should look into that…) – we’re going back to our Summer Saturday hours!
Starting in May, the Library is open from 9 am to 3 pm! We look forward to seeing you for a few extra hours a week! This gives you plenty of time to shop at the Farmer’s Market (which also begins the first Saturday in May) AND swing by the library to use our restrooms, pick out something to read, or visit our local history museum. Speaking of which, the Hamilton Historical Commission has just installed a new exhibit!
On display through the end of summer, come join us in celebrating the 21st anniversary of the Chenango Canal Association. The Hamilton Historical Commission is working with that group, and starting with a program on April 28 at 6:00, right here at the library! There will be speakers featuring newspaper reports when the canal was operational. Afterwards, the group will view the museum’s exhibit.
Looking ahead, on May 28th (rain date the 29th), from noon until 3 pm, the public is welcome to participate in events at the Chenango Canal Cottage Museum, and along the National Recreation Trail on the towpath. See you out there!
As always, thank you for reading and for visiting the library!
