Ice, Ice, Baby

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Yes, I know that’s a Christmas song, but there’s something about sub-zero temperatures and snow that actually sticks around for more than an hour that just gets me feeling all warm and cozy inside. Maybe it’s the new HVAC system that was installed here at the library this year that, now that it’s finally up-and-running, keeps temperatures up even in the coldest of conditions. That could technically make me feel warm and cozy too.

Or MAYBE I think this time of year is so wonderful because there’s an ice rink right in our backyard (which is currently open, yay!), and patrons are able to come and rent ice skates from us, for free, to use on that rink! All our skates are organized, clean, and sharpened to ensure your safety and enjoyment. Thanks to the Friends of the Library for sponsoring our collection, which pays for skate covers, bags, and even the aforementioned sharpening!

Of course maybe winter isn’t your thing, and these temperatures have you not wanting to even leave the comfort of your own home to come to the library, regardless of the comfortable temperatures within. To you, I say, that’s reasonable! Did you know we offer free home delivery to anyone in our service area? Let us make the trip out in the cold, you stay put! All you have to do is fill out a form on our website and we (me) will deliver it right to your door! Obviously, since I’m the one doing the driving, just reach out to me if you have any questions, my contact information, as always, is right at the end of this column.

Thank you for reading, enjoy this beautiful, brisk weather, and stay warm!
