Okay, first off, if you are reading this before February 21 at 11 a.m., there’s still time to get raffle tickets to win the rocking chair in our entryway. Tickets are $5 and if you buy them RIGHT NOW, there’s a good chance your ticket will be on top of the drawing pile. Just sayin’.
Next, Happy Valentine’s Day! We know it’s too late, but you can still go on a ‘Blind Date with a Book’ until the end of the month. To do this, just grab one of the wrapped books from our display as soon as you walk in the door. These have been recommended by all your favorite librarians. Disclaimer: Words contained within blind date books do not necessarily reflect the views of library staff. I supposed that disclaimer also works with non-blind date books. I guess we’d call those “regular date books.”
It’s also Presidents’ Day! We know it’s too late to celebrate that too, but you can always check out a book about your favorite, or, if you’re a glutton for punishment, your least-favorite President! No matter what side of the political aisle you fall on, I’m sure we have plenty of both. Who knows, maybe you’ll even wind up with a presidential blind date book! Stranger things have happened.
Did I already mention the chair raffle? Because this is the last time I’ll bring it up. Except for next week when we announce the winner. Unless I forget, which is very likely.
